350M Tire Upgrade, are factory wheels rated for 110 PSI?

    Hi,

Picking up my 350 this weekend, and my first stop is at a Discount Tire a couple miles from dealership. Having the Good Year G 614's installed. My dealership says the wheels from the factory are the same whether you're equipped with the stock tires or the upgraded Good Years. Can anyone verify this as having done the same? I'm just trying to avoid any surprises when the shop breaks down the factory tire and tells me the wheels aren't rated for 110! Thanks

This question has been asked and answered before. As GDRV offers optional Goodyear G614 tires ipo the Westlakes on the Solitudes and Momentums, the wheels can handle 110 psi.

I did try to search the subject first however I never found my answer.. This is good news, dealer told me the same but just wanted to hear it from an owner having first hand experience! Tim

If I'm not mistaken the key is ensuring you use metal stems. The wheels can handle the increased psi but not the rubber stems. Good luck and good choice!

This is what is stamped on my M350. I believe the rim rating ( 3960) needs to match the weight rating of the tire. I am running 110PSI in the tires. They are rated for 4080 LBS. The lions head rep confirmed that they are OK to run!

Another thought along this line, anyone running nitrogen? If I could find a shop capable of pressuring up to 110psi with nitrogen I think I'd spring for the extra expense. I work in aviation and we service commercial jet tires with the gas, it's much more stable against pressure fluctuations due to temperature changes. Often time some main gear tires require as much as 210 psi!.
