    Kantleak

I know this has been beat over and over, but, my kantleak started leaking while we were in Big Bend National Park. When I returned home, a call to Anderson was a surprise. The customer service agent seemed to be over joyed to could send me the latest and greatest replacement cartridge for my value. Complete with instructions and a tool to speed the process. Along with "I'm here to help if you have any problems". I was impressed with the service.

Good deal. I take it the "leak" was the internal one not the external one. The core is very easy to change, just be real careful installing the new one. Be sure to slowly twist it as it is installed.

My valve has been getting harder to turn, this has been identified as an indication the valve is going south. I called Anderson to buy a valve core replacement. They were very helpful and sent me one at no charge.

I THINK it is a matter of the lube getting displaced making the valve harder to turn and eventually unseating the O ring(s) and causing problems.

I'm hoping regular re-lube will prevent the "drying out" of the core and keep the O rings in place. In addition to avoiding turning while under pressure.

When I contacted Anderson Valve several months ago I was directed to Ron (do not have last name, I apologize) @ Anderson Valve @ 843 861 7103 (his cell.) Nice guy and very helpful.

The number you gave is the one I called and I talked with Ron. He does seem to be a nice guy and was interested and concerned with making things right. I asked about the lube and he said it would come pre-lubed. Jim probably has a good idea about re-lubing it periodically. I just don't know at what frequency it would need to be done.

I pulled the cartridge on my Kantleak valve and noticed one of the O rings was missing, did a short search and realized it probably was never there, I think someone else on this thread mentioned the same thing. I contacted Anderson Brass and was told this was one of the older valves and it never had this O ring installed. They offered to send me a new updated one free of charge to replace this one.
