    Battery disconnect switch

Hi all. What exactly does this switch kill? I was under assumption that it would have killed the power tongue jack when disconnected. Is it normal to still have the tongue jack work on these imagine trailers? Thanks.

If your Imagine trailer is like our Reflections, it kills everything except the front jack (landing gear in our Reflection FW), and trailer brakes. There might be more active circuits, but I'm sure about those.

In addition to the landing gear, also still powered with the factory disconnect off are CO detector, entertainment memory, front compartment and pin box lights plus breakaway brake apply.

I really need to read up on all of this. The theory I read is that it disconnects the TV (tow vehicle) from the RV power. The concept being that not all TV manufacturers have a disconnect from the 7-Way.

When you stop your TV, the RV will still drain your TV battery. If enough appliances are pulling power your TV might have trouble starting.

I guess it saves you from disconnecting the 7-way.

If you are worried about the TV draining the truck battery I would unplug the 7 way connector if you are stopped that long just to be sure.

The new F150 lets you change the trailer settings in the dash. Once you setup up the trailer it will supply 12VDC to your trailers RED Aux connection.

Another interesting thing is if you knock it to the off position it will kill your 12 volts and have you chasing for a hidden fuse. They really need to mark the pylon with on and off positions.

Fords use a relay to disconnect the truck power from the trailer when the engine's not running. GM's used to be wired "always hot", I don't know if that's still true.
The trailer's in storage and the batteries are removed. But I believe the disconnect switch kills everything except the break-away switch and tongue jack. Without checking I may be wrong.....

So this is why when left unattended for a few weeks the battery is dead even though I turn it off !!! I just added a kill disconnect at the positive terminal of the battery. I'm sure that will do it.
