    GPS App For RV's

For anyone interested - Got a notification from Co-Pilot. They now offer an app for RV's. Should be pretty good. My bet is that it was developed from their trucker app. 50 bucks.

I've been trying to decide on a GPS for a while. Have you tried it yet?

I have the Co-Pilot Premium App. It's mainly for auto, but you can select RV for preferences. It has worked great for me so far.

This app uses GPS and the maps are downloaded to your phone so you don't need Internet or cell phone signal either. Strictly GPS. I use the one for autos and it works great. Not sure what the new one for RV's will offer but it may be worth looking at.

I use a Samsung tablet for most of my GPS needs. You can pick them up for around $100-120. The main advantage is they also support GLONASS (Russian GPS System) so tracking is fast and accurate. I use it for boating and off-roading. If I destroy the tablet, it's $100 for a new one and all of my expensive software can be downloaded to the new device.

I've been trying to find a good RV GPS app, none seemed so great however. Sygic has a trucking app, however it does route around low things, just warns you as you're about to hit them..

Have you been out west with the Co-Pilot? I find the maps to be terribly out of date at least for the west.

    Thanks,

I wish someone would make a GPS that would allow one to (easily) make a route on a PC and transfer it to the unit (without numerous waypoints). I'm tired of being subject to the way the programmers want me to go (and when I don't, nagging me continuously to turn on unpaved roads or jeep trails in an effort to get me back on their route).

No, I haven't. It seems that I have to join to get information, except I see that I would have to buy their GPS product. I already have two Garmins.
