Hope to be Imagine owner - in south Florida - any recommendations?

Hello all,

Tim and Judy form south Florida here. We have been TT RVing since 1978 in one form or another - we started with tent campers.

We hope to be Imagine owners in the near future; we have been researching Grand Design on YouTube and hanging around this forum for six months.

Local dealer (Palm Beach RV) is lowballing me on trade (which I expect and understand) but also inflating MSRP and then offering <15% discount. Dealer claims MSRP on 2016 2600BH is $37,716 and offering $5,200 off that MSRP. We are going to try other dealers that are not as close so wish us luck.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

It's always a little cloudier when you've got a trade-in...any consideration to sell it yourself? it's the right time of year...

You should be able to negotiate a 25 - 30% off the true MSRP on a straight up deal without the trade. The trade-in value will always be lower than what you can sell it for privately, but if you only pay sales tax on the difference, it may still be to your advantage to trade.

General RV. You can purchase it on the web - see if you can get Lily - and pick it up in Jacksonville at their store there. They gave me a great deal. I picked mine up at the Canton Oh store. You are much better off to sell yours yourself. I sold my Passport for 7k more than a local dealer offered on a trade. You should be able one get one in the 25k range. PM me if I can help further.

I spoke with a couple dealers in Florida Lazydays & General rv (Jacksonville). General Rv had the best price about 27% off msrp. I was trading in a 2016 35" bumper pull and was offered a fair price on my trade from both dealers. I purchased from another dealer closer to my home at a slightly higher price but by the time I missed a few days of work and added in travel expenses it evened out.
