    NORCOLD Frig. Problems

Less then a year old and middle of the night start hearing this beeping. Turns out it is the frig. telling me it is a "LI oP". Nothing works, it is Easter Sunday, of course, no one working and the book tells me it is nothing I can fix. Anyone have any suggestions, other then go buy ice chest and empty, already did that.

    Thanks

Li Op indicates an ammonia leak. I'd go outside and remove the cover to see if you can see anything. I don't think there's anything an owner can do to fix it.

There have been several threads on this. Sometimes it's a real problem, sometimes it's the control board, sometimes it can be fixed by using a magnet to reset a breaker. Do you have propane? You could run it off propane until you can get help.

kregli, I disagree. I just went through this and it won't operate either side, electric or propane with this code..It's basically the over temp sensor circuit open, or the board is bad. Or, it's doing it's job as designed and preventing a possible fire. Replacing the smaller box circuit board repaired my issue. If the red LED is lit (open the lower access cover outside to the fridge to see it) , then sometimes a strong magnet held to the right of the led against the case can reset a switch. If it trips again you may have a true issue. You can troubleshoot the circuit by bypassing the box, however if you are experiencing a true issue, you may create a fire risk with the runaway temp.
