    Sailun Tire Update

Since several of us are riding on Sailuns now I thought I would start a SAILUN Tire Update.

Please don't start a tire war, there are plenty of those, here and else-ware.

So, if you have some first hand Sailun experience, please share.

    So-far-so-good for me. (Sailun ST 637 235/85R-16)

Thanks for starting this. Looking to change out our two year old Westlakes before June. I'm convinced on using USA made LT tires I've used on 13,000 lb work trailer for 9 years with ZERO tire issues. Local tire distributor highly recommends Sailun ST, starting to do some research. Have only heard good so far, but not a lot of experience yet.
China part still scares me, like the thickness and heaviness of Sailun, but if you do have a blowout, that's a lot more rubber to do some serious damage. Will definitely be watching this thread for some real world feedback. Thanks again.

I have just researched a lot about tires, as i have had three blow outs in the past two years. After two on the West Lakes, I had 4 Hercules tires installed while on a trip out west, 9/22/15. Just had one of them blow out when i pulled into the camp ground yesterday. Could only find a Pking Towmax replacement.
I started doing a search on line and found a lot of good info on RV Forum about E rated tires and the two best tires recommended, without going to 17.5 wells, were the Goodyear G614 and the Sailun S637. They both have higher speed ratings and are 14 ply tires.
I would recommend that you read the postings on RVFORUM.net. There are a lot of good comments about tires on 5th wheels, temperature, load, 10 ply versus 14 ply, and experiences of those who have dealt with tire issues for years.
I am going to replace all my tires with on of the two recommended G rated tires I mentioned above.

Still haven't heard of a single Sailun failure anywhere.

It is a race to see which happens first- the American Goodyear tires or the Lippert brakes that do not get covered in grease!

Hah! I'm betting on Goodyear. They already make the G614 in the US - at least the last time I checked they did.

I've done a lot of research on tires and everything's been positive on the Sailuns but then also read where guys have upgraded to 17.5" and wished they would have done it sooner. Pretty sure that's what I'll do too, the tires will be Firestone FS560+, made in USA, same plant as their Bridgestone counterparts.

Does anyone know where the Goodyear G614 14-ply tires are made?
