Dish Satellite Receiver - Where to put it??

I have a Dish Tailgater with a Dish VIP211K receiver. I am trying to find a location to put my dish receiver.

I have seen quite a few posts here about putting the received in the storage area but there are quite a few disadvantages of doing this (non-HD quality picture via coax, non-UHF receiver).

I have considered putting the receiver in the storage area under the tv (above fireplace) but the receive is too deep for this location (even worse once you take into consideration cables).

Ideally I would like to have the receiver in the living area connected via HDMI.

Also, I see a newer version of the VIP211 (z version) appears to be smaller. Would this version fit in the storage area below tv. Anyone using this newer version?

Suggestions? Pictures would be even better. Thanks!

I installed our 211Z receiver in the storage area above the TV (to the left of the Furrion unit). There was plenty of room in there for the Dish receiver, a small footprint DVD/Blue-Ray player, and a plastic storage box for electronic junk. I can't tell from the on-line images on the GD web site how deep your storage areas in the 27RL are - our unit is a 337. I put a Polk Audio sound bar under the TV and installed the wireless sub behind the fireplace. The Dish receiver and DVD/Blue-Ray player are both connected via HDMI cables fished behind the TV mounting panel. The DVD player and Dish receiver both respond to the Logitech Harmony remote through the smoked glass door of the storage space, too.

Anyone use wireless HDMI to get the satellite signal in HD to the bedroom? I have a 308BHS and am thinking that may be my easiest and best option.

It will work with limited degrees of success. Do your home work

I've been looking at the IOgear and it seems to be the best with the longest range. Should work for an outside tv when tailgating too!

Well I tried my 211K receiver it fits at an angle, but not enough to clearance to connect the coax, power and HDMI cable. The angle of the receiver also makes it impossible to use the remote. Looks like I might try the smaller 211Z.

In your installation what TV (TCL) did have?
I'm not seeing the code for the remote for a TCL.

Does anyone know what the remote TV code is?

With a Dish 20.1 IR remote, I was successful by using remote code 650 for a TCL TV. Worked for volume, mute, power. Some of the more complex actions for the TV still require the original TV remote.

Can anyone tell me how to get the tv in the living room out to connect to the back of it. I know there must be some sort of release but I cannot find it.
