Not to hijack the thread but I’m curious about the predator generators/inverters as well. The reviews look good but does anyone have any experience with them? A predator inverter is about half a Honda model.

    Awesome!
    Paid a grand for it...
And! It fits in the forward pass thru when not in use.

I also have the Champion 3400 and run it off of the trailer propane. No need to carry gas or refuel. This is the same unit as the 3500 sold at a couple of retailers.

I have 2 of the champion generators that I run in parallel when needed. I have a 3500 remote start and the 3400 dual fuel propane and gasoline. I like the convenience of the remote start so in the morning I can start it from inside the rig to run the heater. And I only have Start the dual fuel power generator on really hot days to run both AC's or the main AC and the microwave and TV all at the same time. I also like the convenience of the dual fuel generator so that I do not have to carry a lot of gasoline. I find the 2 and a 1/2 or 3 gallon fuel tank on the generators last about 6 or 7 hours.

In May when Tropical Storm Alberto came through (up in Port St. Joe, which later got wiped out by Michael), we were too close to the water (< 50') for comfort, so we pulled the trailer over to the storage lot across the street, and ran just a single 3100 (didn't need to run the both of them). That little tank (1.6 gallon) only got us about 4 hours of run time. We had one A/C running full time. That was a big PITA putting on foul weather gear, going outside and refueling every 4 hours. This is the model that I have (x 2): Champion 3100-Watt Inverter #100158

In hindsight I wish I would have bought the dual fuel model, but at the time the price on these two was too cheap to ignore.

I have the Champion 3500 electric start inverter model and so far its worked very well. It will run everything like yours for my 2600RB Imagine. Its very quiet with the eco throttle down function on light loads.

I followed Jim's lead and purchased 2 Champion 2000w units with a parallel kit, instead of a larger unit. Will be dry camping at a rodeo for the first time in our new 337RLS (traded in Imagine) in a couple of weeks. I'm dreading lifting these small units into the storage area.

Having said that, is there a recommended way to secure these while using? I haven't found a lock system yet. Was thinking of stacking them under the trailer and securing them with a large cable & lock to our landing leg for the time being.

Also upgraded from our 1/2 ton Silverado to an F-350 w/ 6.7L. Should be no more towing issues now!

    Thanks!

But I do have a question for you. That thing weighs 95.7 pounds (without gasoline). You can lift it in and out of the pass through?

I was thinking the same on the pass through storage. Is that fragile lip that holds the seal all bent up? I haul mine in the back of the truck bed. Also opted to stay with gasoline since propane results in less torque, but there are benefits to not hauling a gas can around.

I have a 3400 dual fuel at home. Nice little genny. Very reliable as long as you don't use gas with ethanol. That's how I ruined the carb on my last one.

I've had my Champion 3500 watt generator since I bought my first camper over 10 years ago - still going strong. Starts on the second pull every time. Currently looking at replacing it with the 4000 watt open frame digital hybrid. A little louder than the enclosed units, but more power and more importantly, more onboard fuel for much longer run time. I can live without electric start or remote, but I'd like to be able to sleep all night without having to get up and refuel the generator. And oh BTW, a lot less money than the enclosed inverters.

If you do use ethanol use some seafoam with it. When your done running it shut the fuel off and run all the gas out of the carb. This is something that should be done in any small engine. Those small engines don't like ethanol.
