    Carpet skid marks

I'm getting a dark steak on each end of the carpet where the dinning table/theater chair slide travels. Must be from the slide track. Anyone else having this issue? The dark marks are hard to clean and seem to be getting worse. Could something be out of adjustment? Never had this issue with any other RV we've owned.

Have a look under that slide when it's extended. The slide room is a flush floor type where the room slides in/out on a plastic runner at each end. I had some black transferred onto that carpet apron on our previous camper that was self-inflicted from overspray of graphite lube on the slide gear racks.

We have the same thing in our trailer. I guess I just live with it so I will be interested to hear if you find something.

To keep that "relatively light weight" slide as close to the main floor level as possible, GDRV does not use rollers like on the heavier slides. The slide is carried on plastic rubbing against plastic at each end. We have the same marks and when discussed with GDRV at the Rally last year, they recommended "Slide-Out Slickers". These are fitted over the areas with the marks and also protect the floor (where we were also seeing some scuff marks). A bit of a pain to install every time, but no more rub marks (except on the slide-out slickers).

I remember you got them at the Rally so do you still use them or are they the kind of thing that you end up getting and never using?

    Hi Paul,

We use them every time . . . and by the rub marks on the top surface where the slide runs in on them . . . they are doing their job !

Hmm, maybe I should order them but $45 for a couple pieces of plastic! Yikes

Our RVs get black streaks in various areas when sitting in the dirt/rain/elements for any time. Could the carpet streaks be simply that the bottom slide corners are dirty after sitting out for sometime and maybe wiping the lower slide corners/rubber seals off will clean the corner area to prevent dragging a dirty slide and thus streaking on the carpet ?

Those are exactly the same marks that we have. Ours aren't getting any worse, but I have not found a cleaner to get the original marks off. At least the marks show you exactly where to position the slide slickers !

Oh so your marks are still there? Hmm, that blows. I was hoping they would come clean and then the strips would prevent recurrence. I guess I won't bother ordering them until I see if we can get the marks out.
