Norcold 1210 not cooling
We had been using our refrigerator, Norcold 1210, for the past 1.5 years, w/o any issues. Just recently, it will not cool. On AC, it does nothing. On propane, the burner will run, but still will not cool. I have tried unhooking the thermistor, and replacing same, but no change. Have tried killing power, and no change. Called Grand Design, they say it's out of warranty. Called Norcold, and there is still some warranty time left. I am curious if anyone out there has any ideas on what the issue might be.
Along the same line, if anyone out there is aware of a reputable mobile service tech in the Cleveland, Ohio area, please advise.
Thanks in advance,
Gord and Janet Fuchs

Hi Gord and Janet,
We have the same refrigerator in our Solitude, it is 2 years old. Your problem may be a cooling system leak. Two Sundays past, we smelled ammonia in the box for 2 days. Just dropped the camper off at the dealer yesterday.
Good luck.
Safe travels.

Also check behind the outside vent, look for a yellow powder residue, that is what my dealer asked me.John & Carol Joscelyne and Hexy

As John said, if you find yellow residue you've had a leak. If no
leak, did you let it run in LP mode for at least 24 hours as it can take that long to cool down. Also, you could have a blockage that can be loosened by tapping on the evaporator tubing with the handle of a screwdriver. You can download a service manual at http://bryantrv/docs2/ncold1210.pdf. Good luck!

Update to fridge not cooling;
I had a tech service come out to check the unit. One hour prior to his arrival, I ran the unit at the highest setting on propane. He indicated to me, that the unit was starting to cool. He also suggested, as Alan said, to smack the tubing with a rubber mallet to loosen up any blockage. I did that, let it run for 24 hours, and this AM it appears to be working. I am glad that it may be repaired, as when I started looking at new ones, the price was around $4000.00 !!!!!!!!! These venders should be wearing masks when they charge that kind money for these items.

My issue was identical
In my case I did all the troubleshooting, checked thermistor, doorseals,no yellow residue. Had a technician look at it and he wanted to replace the factory unit with an amish unit for the low low price of 3K. I was about to replace mine with a residential unit when I decided to try one last fix. I had noticed the insulation around the heater/boiler was ripped some so I pulled the unit out just enough to access the back and also found the factory seals on the back had degraded from heat. Apparently these things get very hot in the vent space. I simply reinsulated and resealed around the heater /boiler and resealed the unit where it sits in the back of the box. It has worked perfectly since. I had planned on adding an additional fan up top for the summer months but have not needed it.
