Black tank flush vacuum breaker?
Is there a vacuum breaker incorporated in the black tank flush?
Currently I have a Y fitting at the campground water source with a fresh and a black supply line connected... I leave the male end of the black hose disconnected until it's time to dump... Then connect to the docking station with a plastic vacuum breaker between the hose and the trailer...
Am I "double protected " this way?
Also... I can only get one hose through the bottom hose port... Somehow I'm not too comfortable running one hose from the shore to the trailer, installing the Y inside the basement then having two short hoses leading to the fresh supply and black tank flush...
Any suggestions?2005 Chevrolet 2500HD D/A CC LB 4WD

Yes there is a vacuum breaker in the black tank flush line. Believe it is required by code.
Typically a cheap plastic one that has leaked on every trailer I have had.
In my 337 it is behind the shower controls. I removed the panel in the linen closet to find and monitor it.
I replaced the leaky one in my 337 with a brass version... no leaks

Great question. That must be the reason I have been getting the funky smell after flushing. I've been trying to run it down, but it was intermittent. Now I'll go on an adventure and find it. Love this GD forum!

I can not put water into the black flush inlet (in the control panel). I understand that when you can put water in ... to flush the black tank, you can hear the water swishing around, flushing the black water tank. Is there a valve setting that I am missing to have the water enter the black tank from a city water hose?
Am I missing something? Or is some valve plumbed backwards?
Any help out there???Dave & Becky

There is no valve, just the vacuum breaker. Connect water supply and turn on, done. It can be heard without question.
@ RVMode, this has nothing to do with any "funky smell". A lot of folks make the mistake of having the exhaust fan on while flushing. This simply draws air right down the vent pipe through the tank and out in your face. The only thing this does is prevents back flow from the tank to the flush connection.2015 Reflection 323 BHS #589

I also had a black tank flush that did not let water through. In the 303 it was almost impossible to get to with my large hands, so I could not replace it. I read on a forum for another brand of trailers that some were stuck to ot let water flow through and to place a vauum cleaner hose over the opening on the control panel for a very brief time. I tried that for 2 times with the vacuum hose completely covering the flush connection. I was skeptical, but it worked to unstick the parts immediately.
