Has anybody run wires down a roof vent?

I'd like to run my satellite dish wires down a roof vent and to the water control panel area. Has anybody done this? If so, could you share how you did it? Thanks!

What are you calling a roof vent?

I didn't measure it but it's probably 2 1/2" in diameter and most likely vents the holding tanks. I know when I looked in the basement of my rig there were several pipes that converged into one and then ran up to the roof.

I've heard about people running cables and wires down the to of vents. I think you shoul seal the access hole well to prevent stinking up your basement

Yes, my solar panel wires go down a forward gray tank vent. In the basement, I used a 1 inch hole saw and fished the cable using a electrician fish. You can keep the round piece, notch it for the cable, loop some thread through it to keep from dropping down the vent and caulk it back into place.
