    Front storage - road trash

I have a 2014 303, and every since we've owned it we collect road trash in the front storage compartment while we are on the road- feathers, dry grass, etc.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

Mike & Debbie--I had to fix some loose rivets on our front door as it drug on the bottom abit. Looking at the fit between door and opening, I could see where the gasket may not seal completely. Check your door/gasket/opening for area(s) not sealed completely. We never had anything get in the front compartment and do not now either.

    Mike,

That must be a pretty big gap to allow feathers and dry grass in !
Ours seals very well. With the workshop I have in there on ours, I would notice even dust getting in.
Try putting a bright light inside the compartment and inspecting around the door after dark.

Have you added batteries or anything heavy to the front compartment? It isn't supported terribly well. When I was adding solar/batteries I noticed it was already sagging a little from my generator and when I added the batteries it sagged enough that it wouldn't lock. Adding support underneath solved my problem - a 2in square 1/4in steel beam about a foot back from the front.

Never got any debris in mine but did get some water from a monsoon like rain and 40MPH winds as we were traveling from Arkansas recently. I found the metal strip holding the rubber seal was bent in several places not letting the door seal tight. Caused me to move some water sensitive stuff stored there to the main basement.

Haven't had that problem at all and I carry two, 6V batteries and a Honda EU2000 generator in that compartment. I did line the bottom of the compartment with a piece of 5/8" plywood to spread the load though.

We've stopped for night and I will open it up and check it out after we park tomorrow. I haven't checked the metal trim around the edges yet.

also check on the street side propane compartment and make sure your rubber/plastic plug is in the hole for the landing gear manual crank. Could have a bird trying to build a nest.

    Mike,

Given what you find in there (feathers & dry grass) I think Chuck's bird nest idea is on the right track. But, maybe its an old nest shaking apart as you travel? Maybe even in the upper part of the pin box with the bits working there way back through the overhang.
