    Black out curtains

    Good day,

I live in Canada's North and 24 hour sunlight right now. I need black out blinds, curtains, something so my baby will sleep. We have used our new trailer three times and we want something that will match and look good. I am not sure if Grand Design will create some that will be available for purchase or not? Like an after accessory, any suggestions? at the moment we have black card board on all of the windows which is annoying to move and then put back on.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I'm pretty sure GD doesn't create specialty things like what you are looking for. I know you can find blackout curtains at Walmart and At Home. I have used them in my RV and you just put them up with tension rods. They work great! Both places, and I'm sure many others, have many colors and designs so I bet you can find something you could be happy with. Good luck with your search!!

We were going for insulation, but this approach resulted in a complete blackout of any window we used it on: we bought a roll of bubble-foil insulation at Lowe's and cut pieces to fit inside the window frames. We just put it in there and pull the shade(s) down to hold the bubble-foil in place. During cold weather when we put the bubble-foil in all the bedroom windows, my main problem is oversleeping...

I measured the inside dimensions of the window frames and found a bowl the same radius as the corners to draw my cutting lines. The cut-outs fit very nicely.

Used this in my last trailer and it worked perfectly to keep everything dark. It also helped keep the heat of the sun out when in Florida in June. From the outside it looks a little funny but it’s better than having the kids wake up at the first peek of the sun. Now that we have an Imagine, I’m hoping the night roller shades will provide enough darkness. If not, it’s back to the rolls of insulation.

We found some true blackout curtains on Amazon, don't recall the brand. As above some tension rods it the valance box made a very easy replacement for the blinds. We also added sheers for a bit of daylight privacy.
