108 in Laughlin and my AC is acting funny
108 here in Laughlin NV today and going to be 112 tomorrow. My living room AC is cutting in and out It will go off for several seconds, then come back on for 30 seconds or a minute and then go off again for a few seconds only to repeat the cycle. Any ideas what's going on? Does it have a mechanism to prevent it from over heating? Is that what it's doing? Using my bedroom AC, but it can't cool with this type of heat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What rig do you have? Our living room has a dump feature, when it gets really warm we use it and a tower fan to cool. Makes a world of difference

You might want to check the fan setting on that A/C. If it's "auto", it may cycle like that. If you set the fan to "Hi", it should continuously run. Had a similar issue this weekend and someone on the forum pointed that out to me.

travlinman,
Assuming you have an Atwood main AC. Have you cleaned the inside air filter ? These units have a very small filter area which needs to be kept clean.

I would check the incoming AC voltage and make sure it is 120_+5%.

Curtis is correct . . . the Atwood AC units had (have?) a problem with baffles not being properly secured/placed.
See this related discussion, particularly Jim's before & after pictures in post #10.

Baffle would be a good place to start, or drive North. Lol
