Living Room slide cutting floor

Has anyone had a slide to cut the floor when it is brought in. This just happened this week end. Did not go all the way through but it's pretty close. I had a couple piece's of thin sheet metal so I put them under slide when we closed up so no more damage would be done. Wondering if there is an adjustment I could make for this problem. Thanks

Finally got around to working on slide and after many adjustments could not get it to completely quit gouging the sheet metal . Started looking elsewhere for a problem. Upon studying the location of the two cut places I noticed they were inline with the bases of the seats at the table. Backed the screw at the very end of each side out and cured the problem ! Hope this helps
