New Grand Design Owner. 2016 Reflection 323BHS

Just purchased our first fifth wheel camper. We will be taking it out on it's first voyage for the 4th of July weekend. We love the bunk house layout of the 323BHS.

Welcome as a GD owner. I too have a 323BHS and love the floorplan. First thing I did is get a 3" memory foam queen topper, however.

I would suggest you stay a few days at a campground close to your dealer--in case there are problems to address. And I would suggest you stay in a couple of other campgrounds for a week or longer--unless you're an experienced 5th wheel camper. You don't need to hit the road without being very familiar with your trailer and all it's systems.

Just getting your trailer hooked up and unhooked from your fifth wheel is something that requires practice. I, for example, forgot to drop the tailgate when unhooking and quickly found out a new tailgate with paint is $1,200. I know now to drop the tailgate any time I move my truck.

Welcome to the forum. Good idea to hook up all of the systems prior to your maiden voyage, hook and unhook a few times, and with a first time fifth wheel driver, get some practice time in backing that thing (Unless you are a professional truck driver). If you have had tow-behinds before, the first time you back this one will feel really strange. Make sure to work out hand signals and other communication before you even put that lever into R, but practice in a safe area, get the feel of it, and have fun. You'll find a lot of information here, and the Grand Design folks really strive to live up to their reputation.
