    Generator(s) needed

So I have a reflection 303 and was wanting some info on a generator or generators. What size do you need to run the fifth wheel , run one a/c or maybe even both a/c's and leave water heater on gas. What about one a/c and running the microwave or both a/c's and microwave. Just want to make sure what I need before i run and buy something not big enough. Thanks in advance for any help, Jeremy

I have a Generac IQ2000 and it works at lower elevations for small things a like TV or microwave and some minor power tools but it will not run an AC unit. You can run 2 generators in parallel that would work for running one AC unit but not much else. Running one AC unit with a microwave would be pushing it for 2 parallel 2000 watt generators. Run the microwave when the AC compressor has cycled off!

For me I didn't think about it at the time but altitude plays a huge role in power loss. I store my RV at a storage location at ~7500 feet above sea level and camp in the rock mountains and a small portable generators isn't worth it. You lose about 200 watts for ever 1000ft. So a 2000 watt generator for me equals about ~500 watts ( ~4 amps). Make sure you take that into consideration based on your home and planned campground elevation. Solar panels + inverter for me is the more efficient and effective solution (but won't run microwave or AC)>

We are running two honda EU3000is with a Reliance Controls 50 Amp Parallel Kit For Honda EU3000iS Portable Inverter Generators. We can run two ACs, TV, Coffee pot, lights, leave hot water on propane. Works well, took two adapters to get from generator plug to rv plug. This is an expensive setup, but our only choice several weeks out of the year.

Now that's a nice set up!

If you want to run 'everything' including AC and microwave at the same time, you will need a dual setup, like Mike recommended. We generally dry camp in areas that don't require the A/C, and we have a single Honda EU2000i. We can run the microwave on it, but not much else. It's plenty for lighting (esp with LED's) and tv/dvd, etc...

I have a Dewalt DG6000. 6000 surge, 5000 continuous. It has a 240 volt 30 amp plug. Will that run an AC, TV and say Microwave or coffee pot?

Do you think a 10,000 watt max , 8000 continuous would work for everything ?

Your electrical service is designed for max 50A. Since 50Ax120V = 5100W, you shouldn't really need to supply more than that. The typical 5500W Onan is what comes as an option.

Ron, you probably know this but for others that might not ---don't plug your 30amp chord into this 240 volt receptacle. The 30 amp plug is for 120 volt.

That is more than enough generator to run everything on our 369RL, Does the generator have a 50 amp plug you can use?
