    Goodyear tire upgrade

Just ordered a 2017 new Momentum with the Goodyear tire upgrade. I was wondering if someone can tell me if the upgrade will come with metal or rubber valve stems. And do the rubber ones support tire pressure of 110 psi.

    thanks

Because the Goodyear LR "G" will handle up to 110 PSI my assumption is that they will come with bolt in metal stems. The rubber/metal snap in stems are rated up to 90 PSI (HP600) so that would be too low for the "G" load range.

    Now that's funny!
Great humor. That's one of the reasons I check this board twice a day

Do people actually run them at 110 PSI? Assuming you don't need the full load range, wouldn't it be advisable to run at say 90 vs 110? I'm wondering in the same way as truck tires. I used to have a calculation for finding loaded PSI. Do trailer tires work in the same sense, or would you want to run them at full PSI? Seems like you'd have a better chance of cracking the rim at full pressure.

I run 90 psi in my G614. I could safely get by with 80 at my loads according to the Goodyear inflation tables. The extra 10 psi gives me a little more time to get pulled over if I detect a slow leak with my TPMS.

Jim is correct in only having his at 90 psi to cover his load. That is why it is so important to know the weights of each position as it would normally be loaded. Then inflate the tire equally to support the hieviest position. (You could get by adjusting pressures individually but I wouldn't recommend that as I subscribe to the "KISS" method)

Our 328M was factory ordered with the G614s. At PDI they were set at 110 PSI Nitrofill complete with green caps. Pretty sure on the metal stems but I'll double check when I stop by the storage lot tomorrow.
