    So the dinette broke

Last thing i was expecting when i sat in the booth for the first dinner was the back wall of the booth to give way. I pulled the cushions out and the cover off and there it was. Only two end pieces and the minimal center crossmember all held together with only 2 tiny brad nails in each, but they had all pulled apart. Very disappointed to say the least.

I know there is some cost & weight savings necessary, but to not build a dinette to be able to support the minimal forces required to hold a single seated average size individual without falling apart is basically an epic fail on GD's build team.

Not sure whether to reinforce the structure myself, waste a couple week or more of it sitting at the dealer, or just tear it all out & replace the dinette with freestanding chairs at my own cost.

I know worse things could have happened, but it's a brand new expensive unit on its 1st outing (2 day of a week trip) and the dinette is useless.

On the bright side it looks like the dinette booths are easily removable since they were installed on top of the carpet which could allow an easy swap to chairs. Never been a dinette fan other than for an extra kid bed.

Our dinette bench seat also broke after a couple of trips in our new 311 BHS. Again it was just held together with the minimum brad nails etc. the dealer ‘fixed’ it. Then it broke again the very next trip. I ended up fixing metal brackets on each frame corner. I might go down the chair route also.
