Hi, guys,
I regard this ability as one of the great features of our Solitude. I have used the Level-Up to change tires and to adjust brakes (with the addition of two jack stands). You can lift the entire trailer off the ground quite easily, or you can raise one side. I would caution, to be on the safe side, to only lift until the tires just clear the ground. The lifting capacity of the six hyd. jacks far exceeds the weight of the trailer.

But . . . if you factor in the feedback from LCI on this other thread, this owner has specific direction from Lippert (or at least one of their techs) to never lift the tires off the ground with the levelling system . . . (Not saying that I agree with this, just pointing out the discussion)

Yes, you can lift all the tires off the ground, I'm not sure you should.

It is definitely not recommended. At the very least I'd be using jack stands under the frame for safety.

This is one of those never ending threads with only two answers (yes you can & no you can't) and numerous opinions. Let's say Lippert doesn't say yes or no and someone lifts the unit with the level up to change a tire or repack the wheel bearings. While they are in the wheel well area, a hydraulic hose "malfunctions" (never happens - right???) and the unit falls and injures or worse while the someone is underneath. Lippert is hung out to dry. (kinda like the warning about holding a firecracker in your hand after lighting it) I think we know or have seen someone (i.e. Lippert tech) using the level up to work on the axles. If Lippert answers "no you can't" when asked, the liability for the person who does, is not on Lippert. I fully understand the liability that Lippert is trying to get out from underneath with their "no you can't" answer. Now would I do it? Yes - but I carry two jackstands with me so that when the unit is up, I can put the jackstands under the frame. Be safe.
