Mine doesn't even touch the floor, it takes none of the weight of the generator. The generator frame is bolted to the trailer frame going side to side between the main frame. I might have a picture somewhere or I could take one if needed. I do have a couple square holes in the floor. One was necessary for the exhaust pipe to exit.

One thing I learned was to cover any openings in the floor with a wire mesh or rodents can get in and make a nest inside your generator. Ask me how I know!

I'm not sure how the Solitude frame is structured, but in my Momentum the gen sits on that thin floor getting a little support from the shield around it. When I did my solar installation I noticed that the floor sagged a little in the middle and I didn't think it would support 400lbs of batteries. We added a 2in square, .25in walled beam across the frame about a foot back (to allow access to the generator oil filter etc.) and some heavy aluminum angle bar to support the front. Now, nothing sags and nothing is going to fall out while travelling. All that stuff adds to the pin weight, so you have to make sure your truck can handle it.

My Momentum also has no support for the Generator besides the thin floor, but it is supporting it just fine. On my thin floor there were 2 section to cut out for cooling. Once the generator was bolted in; it stiffened the whole floor.

Great advice about the Steel mesh for critters, and thanks for the tip on re-inforcing the thin floor.
I too think that the floor would 'stiffen' w the gen mounted.
    I'm gonna 'go for it.

I found this picture when we were doing the install. Not a great picture but you should be able to see how my generator is not sitting on the floor.

It's not truly "sound" proofing but it helps. It's Reflectix and can be purchased at Home Depot or online.

    Update.

I ordered mine directly through Cummins, got a 6500LP for $4,800. Way better than anything I found online.

I finally got it installed with the help of my Father-In-Law. Sure was nice when we had a derecho come through and were without power for a few days.

We ended up setting it on a cooler in front of the compartment, then using a piece of 1" plywood as a ramp to get it up and over the lip into the compartment. After that it was fairly easy hooking up the LP line and the electrical. Found out that one of my batteries isn't charging as it wouldn't crank the generator. Need to look further into that. FYI, if you're doing it yourself you'll need the exhaust kit that is purchased separately. Is it just me or does it take everyone else 2-3 trips to the store to finish a project.
