Toilet not keeping water in bowl

    Hi everyone,

First off, please forgive me if I am not using the correct names for this. Our toilet does not keep water in the bowl. If we fill it will a little water, the water is gone after s short time. I assuming it's a seal that is gone.

The wife keeps saying she's smells sewer, with no water in the bowl, could this be what's causing the smell? I don't notice it.

Thanks for any advice or help. The trailer is still under warranty, but were gone on an extended trip and won't be back to the dealer for a while.

Mine did the same thing. I replaced the seal myself, it's an easy job. Much easier than taking it to the dealer, leaving it, and going back to get it. The aroma probably coming up from your bad seal. Also, when flushing, make sure the bath exhaust fan is off. The will draw aroma out of the tank when the valve opens.

Start with cleaning the top side of the "ball" and the underside of the seal. Also, make sure the ball is actually closing all the way.

JCR GD makes a good point. Try that first. It didn't work for me, hopefully it will for you.

Thanks guys! Ill give that a shot. If not, looks like I'll have to change a seal. I might also have to put in a maxx fan. The wife can't reach the switch for the cheap fan that's in the bathroom now.

May try a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil in the empty bowl to lubricate the ball and seal, worked for me when mine dried out over the winter.

We had the same problem. We put toilet bowl seal lubricate in our 303. Let it set when it was in storage. No problem since.
