    Sink rusting

We have a Reflection 313RLTS bought end of April took it camping once Mothers Day weekend then went again this weekend and when I lifted the cover off the sink it had rust spots all in the sink! I always dry my sink sides and bottom but I had bought a little holder for the sponge so it must of still had a little water even though I sqeezed it out very well. What is the best thing to get the rust off the sink without damaging the sink??
I also noticed in the living area starting inside the cabinet above the couch a long line of what looked and smelled like pine sap running down the wall. The camper has never been parked under a pine tree or any other tree for that matter! Has anyone else ever had this happen?

A bit of fine steel wool should take care of the rust. Ours did the same but only in the corners and not too bad

When ever I get some marks or rust in the sink, I use a green scrubbing pad to touch it up. Whether you use steel wool as mentioned above, or a scrubbing pad, follow the grain pattern in the sink.

I would stay away from steel wool because this will add bits of material that will also rust. The synthetic green pads or stainless steel pads or copper pads would all be better choices.

There are a few stainless steel sink cleaners on the market that do a great job! I also get "spots"on mine and the cleaner works great. Use to have the same thing happen at home when I had stainless steel.

I would start with Barkeeper's Friend. If that doesn't remove the rust, go to OOOO steel wool with the grain.

My thoughts are different, why would a relatively new stainless steel sink rust ? I'd be asking for the sink to be replaced under warranty or you'll be fighting the rust the whole time you own this trailer.

A super thin layer of lemon oil after each cleaning will help prevent the rust from redeveloping.

The pine sap thing is just plain weird, maybe the lumber used wasnt properly kilned?

I'm with you. Stainless steel shouldn't be rusting at all. Does a magnet stick to the sink? If so, it's not stainless just a stainless finish.
