Dually newbie question
We had a SRW 2500 when we bought our Reflection 303 and found we were slightly overloaded when full with fuel and "stuff". We bought a Ram 3500 dually with thoughts we will eventually upgrade to a bigger 5er. This is the first dually I have had and am finally getting used to the "wide hips" when parking. The questions I have are checking and filling the inner tire pressure and proper cold pressure when towing; what method do those with duallys use do this and what cold tire pressure is best? I bought an Accu-tire Truck and RV Digital Tire Gauge but can't get it seal on the inner stems for an accurate reading. I have read the extensions will work but have also read the readings aren't always accurate. Then, when googling for the best methods, there are as many opinions on how and the proper pressure as there are on what truck brands are best.
SO, I ask for your experienced answers on 1) the proper/best way to check the pressure and 2) the proper cold air pressure to use when towing the fifth wheel.
I realize there will be differing opinions but I hope to find the best one for us to use for both checking and final pressure.
Thank you all in advance!!

The correct air pressure is listed on the door placard. As far as utilizing extensions go to a reputable truck tire dealer as they will have (or should have) the good quality extensions to use. It not uncommon to have issues reading the inside pressure of a dual wheel setup.
Personally I'm not too hip on digital gauges, I much prefer the old style pencil or foot style pressure gauges. Either way make sure when you go to a truck tire dealer that you check the gauge you are going to use against their master gauge for accuracy.

Hello,
On my 2015 Ram there is a display you can scroll to that shows the tire pressure of each tire. I have them set according to the label located on the drivers door jam. Some of the sensors are off 1 or 2 PSI but I don't think it's too big a deal. I currently only have a slide in camper (4,000 lbs) that I leave on for 7 months a year. The truck has only 2,500 miles so far but most of those have been up and down the mountains and the truck has performed flawlessly so far (knock on wood).

I had my tires rotated. Now front tires are on rear inside. I haven't figured out how to change locations on info center. Any suggestions?

Hello,
LCBoyer,
The TPMS is supposed to change a few miles after tire rotation. The units send a signal to a receiver mounted in the center of the truck and it updates automatically after driving a short distance.

Hi LC,
I read you can take it to a dealer and they can reset it but you still have to drive it afterwards a few miles to have it read correctly.
