    Tire wear

Im having an issue with tire wear on my 2015 Reflection 29RS. On the front axle only the outside of both left and right side tires are bald, basically no treat just slick. Weve been on two long trips probably less than 7000 miles total and the place I've taken it for service is telling me that is normal.

Suspension components all tight? Lugnuts tight? Tire pressure? Does the trailer sit level when on tow vehicle? This is wear I would start.

That is (most likely) BS! You need to go to a (Hunter) alignment shop that does truck and HD vehicles. Most likely you have extreme toe-in (fronts of tires pointed toward each other). Should be parallel. Bent axle, possibly from the factory that way. I will be glad to help you find shop! I have tire wear from incorrect toe on front axle, verified by Hunter HD alignment shop.

I agree and second Steve's response. We're seeing more and more on the forum about this issue - axles/spindles being bent and coming from the factory that way. Lippert should be ashamed!

Awhile ago a buddy of mine had a 6000lb Lippert axle on another brand that had the same wear issue. Come to find out the spring hangers were welded on the axle 90 deg. off. So the normal arch was towards the rear instead of up!

Steve, I think he means the saddles on the axles are welded on the wrong side of the axle (90 degrees) so the arch of the axle is toward the back instead of the top.

Thanks Jim for helping me out here. Sorry Steve, I used the wrong terminology. I meant to say spring perches. This happens when you are being interrupted by the little ones(called grandbabies)while typing. I believe they were trying to tell me they are more important than the computer.

So whatever degree of camber that was designed into the axle by Lippert is now toe (in our out), causing the tires to act as erasers going down the highway! How does stuff like this get out the factory door? Oh, I forgot- it is Lippert.

I have seen this in production facilities before. I can't say it applies here but, The component is put into the jig, for some reason it did not locate correctly, the break buzzer sounds, only have 10-15 minutes & they all count, off we go, come back, forget where we left off & weld away!!! I seen a guy do this in a multi-million $$$ CNC machine, loaded the part, buzzer sound & off he goes. Comes back & needs to make sure he meets his numbers & pushes the button. Guess what, he didn't tighten the part down. $385,000 later they were back in business. I felt bad because as a Supervisor I watched him do it but got called away before his break was over so I was not there when he came back. I hope I would have caught him but who knows.
