Huge Step Out of Comfort Zone

I've decided that I'm not going to grow old sitting in my garage watching the neighborhood go by. After 32 years living in the same house, being retired 9.5 yrs from a 30yr public safety career, surviving 2 ex-wives, 5 kids and an unknown number of "pets," I've taken the leap. My house (which I've been rolling around in it like a b-b in a boxcar) is SOLD, I've purchased a 2016 Solitude 300GK and a 2016 diesel Ford F-350. As an American History buff, I can't wait to take a few laps around our great Nation, visiting all the sites. Oh, and although I'm a 59 year old "born and raised native," I can't wait to get the heck out of this once, Great State of California. It would be so cool to meet any of you Forum Members on the road.

Congrats on all of the changes and the purchases! Looking forward to hearing some of your 'history' adventures (one of these days, we're going to head out and tour Civil War stuff, but I need a few more years before I can retire and have the time). We did however 'get the heck out' of California (SoCal, Rancho Cucamonga) about 10 years ago, and haven't looked back yet. Nice to be in a slower, rural lifestyle...keeps the blood pressure manageable.

Good to have you on the forum.

I'm not sure what age you can get it, but the National Parks Senior Pass is worth getting. For $10 it gives you free access to many of the places you want to go. In any case, have a great time and maybe I'll see you out there one day.

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your purchase. Please visit often with pictures and tales of your travels. I've been retired for a while now, but the DW still works. Sooner or later, she will call in quit and we will hit the road too.

    Congrats on your travels.

We also love traveling this great country but you couldn't get me to leave the still great State of California.

Always happy to see the population decrease though

Which direction are you headed first?

Dragnet, congratulations! I'm envious. Not sure we will ever sell the house, but I do look forward to the day that we can leave for months at a time. Keep us posted on your travels!
