Unhappy Brown water in new fresh water tank?

We just started to flush and sanitize the fresh water tank for the first time. At the end of the flush, bottom of the tank, there is brownish water. Even after a couple of flushes it is still somewhat brown/yellow. We put chlorine in the first time but at this point are just flushing until it runs clear. While it seems to be getting better we are a bit worried about what this is. Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks!

How can you see into your fresh water tank?

Yes, we have special x-ray vision. Normal x-ray vision can't detect brown water, ours can!

Or perhaps, it is just that as the tank empties brown water comes out of the faucet.

Sounds like you got a tank with a dirt dubber in it. Fill it half full and take a drive, then rinse twice. Hopefully it will clear up by then.

FYI we don't drink or cook with the water from or fresh water tank. We got some terrible tasting water once and that was it for us.

When flushing the FW tank, fill then empty it via the tank drain valve to get all water out of the tank in stead of using the pump. The connection to fill or draw from the tank is on the side near the bottom whereas the drain is at the lowest point on the bottom of the tank.

Most likely when the tank was drained at some point, not all of the water was drained out. It most likely grew algae and dried over time. This will turn to slug when the water is re-added, I have heard of this before.

I understand! You had me confused, doesn't take much. Try adding water and bleach, driving a few miles and draining

Thanks all. Flushing from the bottom helped. No idea how a 3 week old trailer could have bugs or dried sludge. Even our x-ray vision didn't help!
