    First Trip in our 303RLS

We just got back from our maiden voyage in our 2016 303RLS and it was a very smooth trip. We went from south of Atlanta to the mountains of North Carolina to visit the wife's family which was about 360 miles each way. There were no issues and everyone we saw thought the Reflection was wonderful.
We thought the bed slept great with just a small mattress pad on it and the wardrobe was a great hit. The bathroom performed as expected, but the room we had in the living area was beyond our dreams. We came from a TT with two slides but only on the one side. The livability was totally different when it is all open as these are.

On traveling with a fifth wheel, it was a little different than the TT. We owned a Hensley hitch with the TT and it was said to pull like a fifth wheel, which I guess it did, except for the chucking. It wasn't terrible, just something I had heard about but had not experienced. The dealer we bought the Reflection from set us up with a Reese 16K Pro Slider. I know there are better hitches out there, and it may be something to look into, but we will stick with our set up as of now.

I weighed the rig on the way. I needed 15 gallons of diesel for a full tank, but otherwise with two passengers, no water in any tanks and loaded for the trip here are the figures...

    Front Axle....4420 lb
    Rear Axle....5280 lb
    Trailer Axles..8080 lb

    Total..........17780.

A little over for the 9200 for the truck, but each axle was within the limits, and nowhere near the combined limit of 22000.

So, overall we are very pleased and plan on taking it out this weekend to a local state park.

When we bought our 303RLS, we were lucky that our old trailer the the same pin box. We had a mor-ryde pin box to reduce the chucking, so we had the dealer switch the pin box for us. It does make a big difference. We are taking the 303 on a quick shakedown trip and even with the more weight on this trailer, it still make it comfortable to travel. The 303 has a better suspension than our old one, I almost forgot we were pulling a trailer when we were on the highway.

I would suggest looking into an upgraded pin box, you will be happy again.

Accoster, that's exactly what I was thinking. I had been looking into replacing the pin box with a MOR-ryde but wanted to make sure it was going to make enough of a difference. I have taken my 303 back to the dealer to have the recall on my axles taken care of, so I might just call them up and have them put the MOR-Ryde on while it is there. Thanks for the info.
