Eze lube a joke

How can the eze lube system even begin to work without blowing out wheel seal, it makes absolute no sense for this system work. How can you pump grease in one end , go thru all the bearings and expect it to come out the front, it doesn't ,it goes onto the brakes. Come on GD admit it , and fix it before someone gets hurt!!!! Please tell me I'am wrong Janice?????

They use the same type bearing buddy type systems in marine trailers too. But most boat trailers are lightweight and don't have conventional brake shoes to contaminate.

Nothing like old style red, sticky bearing grease.

When I had a boat trailer I'd always pump in new grease until grease and water quit coming out. I never had a boat trailer with brakes. I agree, I don't see a reason for grease zerk on RV axels

All current axles have that system on them. Dexter and Lippert make axles, Grand Design does not.

If you follow the directions, they tell you to pump grease and spin the tire to help move the grease forward.

It is a great marketing tool, but pretty impractical in the real world.

Go old school and hand pack the bearings when needed.

Bearing Buddy and Eze Lube are different systems. Bearing Buddy just replaces the dust cap and forces grease in through the front bearing toward the back. Eze Lube sends the grease through the axle then through the rear bearing toward the front. That said, I would never use the Eze Lube system. Aside from the possibility of forcing grease through the seal and onto the brakes, it uses at least three times as much grease as you need to properly lube a bearing because it fills the hub. Great if you are trying to keep water out on a boat trailer but useless on an RV. Hand packing for me which also gives me a chance to have a good look at and clean the brake assemblies.

The trailer service outfit I have used for years to pack my bearings says there is no reason to fill the hub with grease, the only place grease does any good is in & on the bearing/race itself.

Chuck I agree! Possibly a slight reserve between the bearings, max 20% of volume IMHO

I agree, I learned to pack bearings in an aircraft tire shop and I've never packed a hub with grease, just packed the bearing and put a swipe on the race. I do put a film of grease on the spindle just to protect it from corrosion.
