Dual Pane Windows- Are they worth it?
Hi everyone, I am going to order a new GD trailer after the new year and would appreciate any comments on dual pane windows. We expect to spend time in the south and southwest.
Thanks
Mark

Dual pane windows offer the following advantages:
- Elimination of window fogging/condensation
- Reduction in outside noise
- Slightly better insulation
The disadvantages:
- Higher cost
- Slightly more weight
- Seals can fail
- In our case, they were not flush mounted like single pane (don't look quite as sleek)
We opted for dual pane because we didn't want condensation and we wanted our rig to be slightly quieter.Brian & Kellie

Had I been patient enough (or had the need!) to order the trailer, would have spec'd it with the dual pane windows. Am I disappointed with the standard windows? No, but sense the advantages of the dual pane would out weigh (for me!) the disadvantages.

Does the dual pane option include every window in the trailer, including those in the slide outs?

I've owned three RVs with dual pane and two without. I honestly can't tell much difference. When one gets foggy between panes, it's expensive to replace

Another downside is when the seal breaks and they have to be replaced...very expensive.

We full-time in our 380TH, and if we'd been offered the option based on the last 2 years I'd say it's worth it. The windows are a big radiator for heat and cold. However, If you will primarily be weekend campers, I'd save the money.

If you live in the far north and camp in zero degree temperatures, they might be warranted.
If you camp in 110 degree temperatures in the desert, they might be warranted.
We camp from 30 degrees to 98 degrees, and we've not been the least bit uncomfortable because of the windows. They're expensive and also very heavy things.
