    2017 Momentum 388M Cost

We are looking at a 388M to FT in. We love it and seems perfect for us. I've never negotiated an RV before. They dealer gave me a price of 17% off when asking the sale price. This is the first price they gave and the salesman round about said there may be a little more room if I was ready to make the deal. Not sure how much a "little" really is. That's a far cry from what I read of rvs being 25-33% off. We would need probably 30% off to afford it. Around $65k.

We have a reflection as backup if the cost isn't any better.

Hope this post is ok. I didn't find a rules sticky or forum.

Thanks for this valuable resource that is the forum.

Yeah, I think 30% might be stretching it a tad. I think I was around 25%.

    Good luck!

BTW, I would strongly encourage AGAINST settling for a fall back unit. We love our Reflection but if your heart is set on the 388M and you "settle" for a Reflection you are doomed for some regret.

    Just sayin'

You can get the GDRV app from the Apple store which (free) which will give you the MSRP and options costs so you can tell if the dealer is providing you the right prices. Some dealers "make up" their own MSRP's, give you a 30% discount off of that and you still overpaid.

I think 25% off MSRP is fairly typical if you work for it. We got 25% off for our ordered unit just by asking via email. Made me wish I'd asked for a steeper discount! To get a 33% discount you may need to buy at the end of the model year, buy a unit off the lot that has been sitting for a while or buy during the winter. I agree with Poppy though... don't settle. Tell your salesman you are offering $65,000 (or whatever you're bottom line price is) and don't budge. If they don't accept your offer, walk. Very likely they will call you back.

And whatever you do, don't tell the salesman if they won't accept your offer you'll get a Reflection. That will kill the sale for sure.

    Good luck!!!

Good luck! If they want to,sell the unit you're looking at, they will negotiate a lower price.

30% is not unreasonable, but also depends on area of the country you are in. Agree with others, don't settle and don't show your hand.

I got quotes from dealers on the model I bought from around the country. I had quotes from TX, Ohio and the East Coast and more local ones.
I brought those to my salesman on the day I was buying and able to lower my price by 5,000 off a previous offer.
Good luck, wait them out and don't be afraid to travel to buy your dream kamper.

Paid $67k for our 2016 350M. That was with the 3-season doors (a MUST HAVE option, trust me) but without the outdoor TV. I then paid $2k more for the Goodyear tire upgrade.

I'd expect to pay several thousand more for a 388M given the extra length, extra axle, and extra tires. Seems like $70k would be a great price.
