DANGER! Don't make the same mistake we just did!
My wife and I have felt so lucky with zero issues with RV'ing to date. Our luck ended this afternoon. I was moving the kitchen slide out on our 318RST and about half way out it started to bind. To make a long story short, one of the kitchen drawers had slid open while traveling and got jammed while trying to open the kitchen slide. It ended up slightly bending the bracket on the outside end of the slide arm that attached to the sidewall. Interestingly enough, it actually didn't do much damage to the drawer itself.
Anyway, what I learned from that (and hopefully I'll remember) is to always check the two kitchen drawers to the right of the oven before opening the kitchen slide. My poor wife thinks she forgot to close the drawer fully. I told her it wasn't her fault. The slide closes but I'll take the RV to the dealer when we get back and have them try to fix the bent bracket on the end of the slide arm.
The first picture is shot looking down on the drawer that had opened during travel and got jammed while I tried to open the kitchen slide.

We managed to do that with one of the drawers in our living room. I took the drawer out, straightened the drawer guides, and glued the drawer back together

Holy cow! You guys have done this too? I don't feel as bad now. Well, actually I do. The RV was pristine before this. Now I need to fix it :-(

Brian, you are going to have a hard time finding anybody who hasn't encountered some version of this. We had a bin jump out of an overhead cabinet and wedge behind the slide trim. The cabinet door had closed again . . . no evidence of how crazy it gets back there when towing. We open one slide far enough to get by and examine all around each slide before opening all the way.

Yeah, it's just a rookie mistake. I think we were getting too cocky so this was payback. I will absolutely be checking the drawers now before opening the slides. Up until this point I always had my wife go outside to make sure everything was OK when opening slides even when I knew there was plenty of room out there. I just hope I didn't damage the slide motors or something.

And yet some people want the slide extend/retract on a remote so you can do this damage from the comfort of your truck cab!
