Down hill or up hill
I'll be coming back to a campsite I'm at now and will be in a different spot that has a slight front to back grade. Considering the auto level is it better to face up hill or down hill? Down hill I could keep all wheels on the ground chocked and use blocks to level out the front better.

Since the auto level likes to drop the front below level prior to leveling, id opt to be nose downhill to start with. Also, you can set the front land gear extensions to your desired length but you cant do the rear ones. I set up nose uphill once and it was a challenge. Ended up having to put it back on the hitch and readjust everything because the rear jacks ran out of stroke. obviously, i needed to use blocks under the feet prior to putting the jacks down but had i had the front downhill, it wouldve raised the front of the trailer higher thus lowering the rear closer to the ground. Im a believer in keeping all the tires on the ground when possible

In my yard, where I park my 303rls, the ground slopes from front to back by 10". The first time I parked there in order to get it level, I had to use blocks under the rear jacks and the rear two wheels wound up about 2" off the ground - the front of each pair was barely touching.
The next day I had a guy come over and build me a gravel pad to park on - it's dead level and wide enough that I can get the trailer parked on it without too much fooling around.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

demangus, that is $ well spent. I did the same. The 5er set level but these newer trucks tend to set higher which means the trailer is nose high when it is unhitched. I made a pad for the wheels 4 in higher, now the trailer is level when unhitched. (very little movement on the jack to hitch or unhitch)
