replacing the pin box with trailair pin box

Got tired of the bumps and road problems going to CA. Will be installing a Trail Air pin box in a week before getting home. Comments??

Stay out of Colorado. Their roads are worse.

We use a Hensley BD3 air hitch AND a MORryde pin box. Southern CA roads are horrible and if CO is worse, I may avoid that state - or carry several spare tires. Yikes! The Trail Air pin box will be much better than the factory "solid" box. Any solid connection from your RV to truck will make for a rough ride.

We have traveled about 30 states in the last 2.5 years, with Colorado our last S & B home and we return to there frequently. The roads are not too bad in my opinion. I would be interested in specific roads that have bad ratings. We put a Trail Air on our Reflection when we bought it, very glad we did!

Well we don't have a trail air so maybe they just seemed bad. Probably hard to maintain roads where it freezes.

It probably is more challenging. I live at 4,200' and we get quite a bit of snow each year but our roads are like glass compared to some of the concrete roads in SoCal!

When you install the new pin box make sure and check your trailer height when hitched up. 2 of us had them installed at the Elkhart rally and the new pin box put us both way over 13'6". Both trailers were Momentums though (already high) so other trailers may not have as bad an issue.

The Trailair pin box rode extremely well for the short time it was on. Definite improvement!
