Nautilus P1....odd problem happened the other day

We have used our fresh water tank several times without issue, so I know the panel functions properly. As always I had set the panel to run from the tank while traveling. While on the road the other day we had stopped at a rest area to use the bathroom. I suddenly noticed water running from the area under the baggage door. When I opened the door water was spraying out the fitting where the hose would normally be attached when hooked to city water. I killed the pump and cleaned up the water. I now checked and then had the wife check to see if I had the levers set in the proper position which they were. I turned the pump on again and again water came back out at me. I have no idea what is happening as this has worked previously.
Do I have a gremlin in my system?

The check valve on the water inlet is stuck open. Sometimes you can maneuver it around to get it closed, or it will have to be replaced. One other option is to go to a hardware store and get a plug to screw in the inlet.

Try tapping the inlet connection with a light hammer. GENTLY

Try tapping it with a rubber mallet. GENTLY

Thanks folks! I checked it to make sure it was closing and it must have been a fluke that it happened. Appears to be all set now.
