That is unusual pricing for Camping World. Typically, their "sale price" is usually more than most retailer's normal price. I compared the prices to Amazon, and the CW prices are MUCH lower. For folks with older trucks, this is a good deal.

One must be careful with K&N filters and newer vehicles. After cleaning, the filters requiring and "oiling" of the filter. If you use too much oil, the oil gets drawn through the intake coating the MAF sensor, thus resulting in false reading or damaging the sensor.

Any amount of oil can be too much.

VERY common result of the MAF sensor getting gummed up.

Read an article that said that if you use a K&N on a turbo diesel, it can be sucked right in and destroy a bunch of stuff. I have always used K&N on my normally aspirated vehicles, but I'll stick with the OEM on my diesel.

Diesels are very high compression, and the intake of air going into the throttle body is different than air flow going into a gas engine. And the exhaust coming out of a diesel is also different--you can feel it.

A diesel engine sucks dirt right through a K&N air filter and it's common knowledge throughout the diesel engine world.

We tested one a while back on a 99 Jeep TJ. The intake (engine-side of filter) showed signs of particles that weren't there with the factory filter. OEM usually works just fine.
