Please correct me if I am wrong about "things not changing"! I called GD Service department to try and get an appointment for our 2015 Solitude; couldn't do it. Per GD Representative, due to "growth", they will no longer take in their product for repair. I was instructed to take my unit to the dealer who must evaluate and if possible make the repairs. If the dealer does not think they can make the repairs, the dealer then contacts GD to explain the problem and recommend that the unit be repaired by GD. I have to wonder if GD will no longer make repairs at the annual camp out? With so many folks having small to large problems, and with so many campers rolling off the line, one has to wonder about the manufacturers in Amish country paying their labor hourly or by the piece!!

GDRV not doing service on rigs is a first heard for me.
They had a 3-4 month backlog for appointments the last I heard.
And they are just finishing up building a brand new building with 4-6 sites with hookups in front of it
for doing service appointments.
When did you hear that news from Customer Service?Last edited by Lingerlonger; 10-10-2016 at 06:05 PM. Reason: TYPO

If this is true, would be very disappointing for sure!

I called them today! And Lingerlonger, I totally understand your thought! I did the factory tour this past July (with Mr Bills son) ( very nice young man!) . I really wanted to get help with a couple problems then but that was not going to happen due to their backlog! Customer service/ Ray I think, gave me a spare tire to get home on. Have to wonder about the new "Winnie " deal[emoji15]

Nothing that is happening is because of the "Winnebago Deal".
It is growing pains, and the fact that they are over concerned with their customers.
They are overwhelmed with the current service center, and the new one isn't near completion yet.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

A previous poster did not have a high opinion of Sunnybrook. We had one for 17 years! Near zero problems during all that time, we were extremely satisfied with it. They were a good company. Unit was still in good shape when we traded for a 303 RLS, which has been plagued with most of the problems others have had with their GD's. Still fighting a few gremlins.

While at the Owners Rally in late August, I did hear from some GDRV guys (Tim Reams, I believe) that they were contracting out some of the service work to local RV Repair shops they trusted because they had such a backlog of folks wanting service at their facility.

Thanks for your analysis of the SEC documents Dan! I've been using my unit and haven't had time to search the SEC yet - on my to-do list. I believe that now that GD is "public" - the drivers will be EBITDA and earnings per share. As Poppy stated, I believed it would happen eventually, just didn't want it to happen quite yet. Given my age, and the quality of my unit, I'm not sure if another purchase is in my horizon - that being said, I am tickled pink of what GD has done so far and if they had to sell to someone, I think Winnebago is a staple in the RV community. I am sorry to see Ron and Bill, "put out to pasture". I believe they had a HUGE influence in the vision of Grand Design.
