Grand Design and Winnebago
I do not submit very many posts. In this case I do think it is necessary. Before running off to judgement with all the negative comments please read below what the leadership has to say. The only way to know if this is going to be a good thing or a bad thing is to wait and see. In the meantime, I don't see any reason not to believe what management is saying. They have always been fair and upfront with us in the past and I for one believe them.
I have been in touch with the leadership at Grand Design and I have been reassured it's "business as usual" and they are fully committed to continuing to care for their customers. This comes from the leadership at Grand Design. Bottom line, same people, same products, same core values.
Based on the information above, I think this was a very good business move for Grand Design. And as the leadership states; right partner at the right time for the right reasons. Leadership feels Grand Designs core values align perfectly with Winnebago.
The leadership at Grand Design has always treated us (the customer) very well. I see no reason to think that is going to change since the leadership and personnel are in tact. Before anyone takes a negative position on this, I believe we have to continue to trust the leadership to continue as they have stated "business as usual".

I agree totally with your comments. We need to wait and see. Please stop sending the negative comments and just wait and see what happens long term.

I agree. GD has been great to work with and I am hopeful that will not change.

Winnebago has very advanced manufacturing techniques and machinery, as they make many, many of their own components for motorhomes.
I'm optimistic that Winnie is going to bring their synergies into Grand Design and make an even better product. It'll be interesting if they improve the quality of plumbing and electrical wiring harnesses, etc.

On October the 3rd, an announcement was made that Winnebago is purchasing Grand Design. In this forum and on the Facebook page, there were many negative comments about the move. Some folks are concerned that Grand Design will lose it's customer focus. The original poster here was trying to tamp down some of the negativity regarding the change in ownership. I think most of us are taking a "wait and see" attitude and our expectations are that the terrific customer support we've received from Grand Design will continue.
