Backup camera only works when plugged into shore power

Hello, the first upgrade I made when we got our Reflection 30BH was to install the standard plug n' play Furrion backup camera. It worked great until this past weekend. Now it only works when the camper is plugged into an an external outlet (shore power). As soon as I disconnect shore power the camera looses power. The battery is fine because all other 12v stuff works fine when shore power is disconnected including the auto-level system. Plugging the 5th wheel into my truck power also makes no difference, the camera only works when the 5th wheel is plugged into shore power.

Any ideas where I should start looking?

    Thanks!

That is a good one. Where is the camera getting it's power from? Some connect to the taillight wiring for the backup lights and some wire direct inside generator compartment. I would start looking wherever the DC power is coming from.

I figured it out. Turns out the battery disconnect switch got jostled enough to disconnect the battery. Apparently the battery disconnect only disconnects certain things which fooled me into thinking the battery was connected. The autolevel system worked fine the whole time.

Glad you found the problem and there was not a major component to be replaced.

I tried to remove the key on my disconnect. It will only come out if batteries are disconnected

I bought a plastic electrical outlet box from home depot. Using a small piece of piano hinge, I mounted the box over the battery shut off. Now, no more problems with stuff bumping the key and shutting off the batteries. Works like a champ.
