    Awning wont retract in

Going to the dealer soon for the infamous lippert axle seal leak but have another issue last weekend. In our 303 the awning did not want to retrack back in, i could hear a click sound at the end of the arm but it was a no go. i tried several times and finally it started to retract.
i tried to search for the symptom on the forum but could not find any answers. I am sure i read about this before in this site. Any help would be appreciated. i always want to help give the dealership as much information as possible.

Ours wouldn't go in but it was dead. No sounds at all. We had to get up on a ladder to access the emergency retract and use a drill and socket to retract it.
There is no way this could have been done in quick time without a drill.
The motor had to be replaced.
Hope the dealer gets it figured out

Ours had this problem and was repaired at the Rally. What happened was one of the screws that hold the plastic motor housing to the aluminum tube had worked it's way out. The motor gears were not making contact with the roller. Two service techs aligned the tube to the housing, drilled a couple of holes and remounted the housing. All is well. Hope yours goes as easy.

We don't use our awning much and opened it out the other day to see if fabric was dry. Went to roll it in and it barely closed. Way past warranty. Not sure if I want to open it again.

Which side of the awning is it that you put the socket on? Is it under one of the end covers? What size socket? Will make sure I have that size handy. Thanks for any info!

It's under the speaker cover nearest the front of the RV. Can't recall the socket size. It takes a lot of spins of the socket wrench to get it retracted. Also, our RV guy said during our PDI one might have to assist the awning when retracting. Just grab the arm and pull up on the arm while the motor is retracting.

We have no speaker in the awning, the access hole is on the top right, should be covered with a plug. You'll need a deep well narrow walled socket. Can't recall the size off hand. All that info is in the lippert master towable manual
