    Wash and Wax

We are at the end of our first season with the Reflection 27RL. I want to wax it before storing it for the winter. I looked through a number of threads that talked about different options. Several people highly recommend "Wash and Wax All". When I went to its web site, every application they showed looked like the trailer was already spotless. My question is, how dirty can the camper be to use this product both to wash and wax in one application? It seems like if you have a build up of dirt, it won't be very effective, or end up using a lot of an expensive product. Any thoughts or experience on this?

    thanks,
    Dave

No matter what you do, get the trailer completely clean. That's the hardest part of the job.

Many people use Zep liquid floor finish on their RV's. They put it on with a foam applicator on the end of a telescoping pole like painters use. It goes on fast, and is very thin stuff. Just put 3-4 coats on the trailer and it supposedly looks great.

A harder way would be to go the auto wax route. It's again pretty labor intensive.

We use the WashWaxAll but if the rig is dusty and loaded with road grime it gets a wash before the WWA. I don't like the idea of rubbing dirt into the finish. Even with washing first the WWA is way easier and faster than appling and removing wax with great results.

I am a firm believer in Protect All. I use it to wash and wax the camper, do the windows, chrome on the wheels, everything that gets in my way. I also use it on my truck. An amazing product. JMHO

I was impressed with wash wax all. We have hard water that leaves instant stains, I needed something that limited water use. I applied with typical travel dust, it worked quite well.

I also used it in my truck, it looks better than it did new with half the work.

Chuck are you going to thend NorCal Rally? If so bring some of that WWA with you and do my 303RLS so I can see how it works.

WashWaxAll, but I'd wash it first if it is real dirty. If you don't you may get scratch marks in the finish from the dirt particles. In between with just dust I'll wipe it with the damp cloth per the directions. I've gotten where I use it on my truck too. Great stuff!

Look at the McKees RV line up from Autogeek. Good stuff, I use it they also have waterless washes that works really well if you have enough microfiber cloths for that. I use the was & wax in my foam cannon. Coats the whole thing in a snow then you just wipe down the whole thing really easy and quick. Then I follow with the wax with sealant by a flex polisher. Comes out looking better than new.
