Getting Closer and Closer to buying
I have already learned so much from all the previous threads enough that I really need to extend a THANK YOU, both for the information and the attitude of the contributors, very helpful.
The plan is to have a very extended vacation in US/Canada to bridge between work and retirement. Will exit California once the house sells. (not yet on the market)
My status currently is no RV, little experience, wife loves the GD fiver floor plans and we concluded that an East/West bed gives much more interior storage. I can't find one less than 34 feet that I think will work.
Also don't yet have a truck. Going to go as one ton - diesel 4x4 without going dual rear wheels.
Thanks in advance for all the answers that I expect when I have questions.
My current worry is about buying used (2015-2016) and not getting Grand Design warranty service. The one year expires with at the anniversary of the original purchase and the three year is not transferable. I assume all the appliances will come with zero warranty as well if I go used. I may address this as a question in a different post if I figure out which sub forum it belongs in.
This is going to be fun ...... Scott

Welcome Scott! A one ton diesel makes the towing experience so much easier and less stressful. Good choice! Most people can get around 25% off MSRP when buying new so if you buy used, make sure your discount is steeper than that. You have to save enough to make not having a warranty worthwhile.

Welcome to the group! There is something to be said for buying used and all the bugs are already worked out!!! We are on our second GD and wouldn't own anything else. We also pull with a 1 ton SRW diesel and love it.
