    Campsite sign

FINALLY ! Close to finished with our campsite sign after a year or so of chipping away at it off and on. A little paint touch up is still needed. It's 21" x 15" x 1 1/2 " deep, it's my first attempt at a project this size and my 2nd relief. Might add our names hanging off the bottom, that can be a FL project if we decide to..
Still trying to figure the best way to either hang it or put posts on the sides to stand it up. So far hanging with a black heavy chain off the tripod is in the lead.

Holy smokes. That's great! My Dad can carve but I got none of his talent myself. I'm always impressed when I see someone that can. Nice work.

Looks great Marcy! Love the Reflection colors.

I don't know if the stand we have for our sign would work. I'll look for it online and send you a link.

We put a loop wire like you would on a picture frame and put plastic tubing over the wire and hang it on our 5er hitch. You can see it hanging in avatar on the left.

Very impressive. To hang ours, I placed small eyelets in the top edge of Wood spaced slightly past width of hitch and run heavy string from eyelet to eyelet with about 2 inches of extra string. I than just hang it on the circuitrved up portion of the roto flex. Works extremely well and also helps to keep you from banging the head on the pin.

Thanks , you guys have come up with some good ideas on hanging. I'm thinking something versatile the eyelets or a ring of sorts so it can be hung off the hitch or a stand depending on the layout of the site. If I hang it off the hitch the truck would block it on many of the sites.
Maybe I should learn blacksmithing , a twisted black wrought iron stand would look pretty cool.

We used to hang our (bought, not hand made - lack of talent here) sign from the kingpin. But as you said in a lot of sites the truck was blocking it. So I made this out of pvc, works great. Click image for larger version.

Now sign can be placed wherever you think best, even on concrete, no need to stick holes in ground. Now I would like to find a way to light it at night.

A solar powered spot light will do the trick. Need one with an on/off switch or will stay lite while being stored. Can be purchased at any Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
