Which disc brake conversion is compatible with future IS upgrade ?

I am considering both a disc brake and IS upgrade in the future. The only problem is the amount of money they cost. I would like to do it in stages, with the brakes first. My question is which brake conversion is the best and would it be compatible with a future IS upgrade ?

    Many thanks for any response.

Why not give MOR/ryde a call and ask? My initial contact with them was by email and Rob Kolean was very prompt to respond.

I installed Kodiak disc brakes before I had IS installed. They had to replace some of the lines, but everything else worked.

I had mor/ryde install disc brakes last month. wanted to do the IS at the same time. was told they couldn't do IS on my trailer because the rear bathroom sewer line was to close. have a 399th. but the brakes were an excellent upgrade.

whatever brand they used I am very happy with the results. I can actually use the dash control to apply just trailer brakes and bring the whole rig to a stop.

With the more powerful trailer disc brakes, has anyone had their trailer brakes lock up in a maximum apply "panic braking" situation at highway speed? The truck will go into ABS, but the last thing you want is a sliding trailer coming around one side or the other.

Rob, I'll have to do some digging to find where I read it, but I saw something mentioned with the Silverado (not sure if the other 2 trucks work this way) that if the ABS system is activated, it reduces gain to the trailer brakes. I'll see if I can find it.
