Front Jacks and Auto Leveling Question
When parked in our Camping spot and ready to unhook, we never can figure out how far down to lower the front jacks on our Reflection. We usually expose about eight holes, put the pin in and then lower the rest of the way onto a couple Camco leveling blocks. We then unhook and continue with the auto level.
I have heard you should just drop the jack a few holes, all the way to the ground, and a few in between. Is there a recommended way to do this. This is with the assumption that the site is relatively level.Tom & Wendy O'Connor

Sounds to me like you are doing ok. If something isn't broke, don't try to fix it

We lower ours 8-10" electrically before we pull the pins and drop them to the ground.

The only time it will have an impact on your ability to level is when you are in a site that features a significant grade. If leveling the unit will require major adjustment afte unhooking then you will want to be conscious of how many slots you use on the front landing gear. We own a construction business so we carry a large "Brute" box full of 12" long 2x10 lumber to use for dunnage for the 6 point auto level. The lumber is heavy but it lasts a long time. With the weight of these units the plastic blocks usually require replacement on a regular basis. I use some dunnage at each leveling jack location regardless of site grade. I also keep longer boards to drive one side of the unit on if there is a noticeable side to side grade change to reduce the amount of work being done by the leveling system. Our leveling system is electric instead of hydraulic. Good luck!
