Okay, I just pulled the trigger on 5 new load range G Sailuns from Simpletire.com In stock and should be delivered in 3-6 business days.

I assume the factory rims can handle these heavier duty tires that came with LR E tires?

Thanks for the source tip. Both Simpletire and the Sailuns get very good customer reviews from my research. Good service, great tires.

Assuming is rarely safe, but I checked with GD prior to upgrading and they said the 16" alloy wheels are rated for 150 PSI or something like that and more than enough weight. The load range G tires are 110 PSI max.

A Grand Design rep told me earlier this year that they are rated for 123psi.

New Sailuns arrived today. Damn, those are some beefy trailer tires. Treads are full of snow from rolling them in to the house from the delivery truck. Think I have the factory Load Range E tires sold to a friend. Have 2 in line. Just need to get the 5 tires swapped out and it's out with the old, in with the new.

Any ball park ideas on what it costs to upgrade from drum to disc brakes on a trailer? I figure it won't be cheap since the trailer brakes are electric and the disc's would be hydraulic far as I know. Unless they make electric disc brake conversions.

Search the forum, George... that's been recently asked and answered. I think it was around $1,200, though, with labor and the hydraulic pump, etc. Ours were part of the independent suspension conversion and I don't remember what portion was the brakes.

I know this is an old post but i'm currently looking at the Sailun S637TRLR ($149.99 each) or the Goodyear Endurance ($175.99 each.) The tires on my 307MKS are the "E" rated Westlakes (23580/R16s.) They are three years old but still in good condition. I know a lot of you have been running these tires for years and want to pick your brains on a couple of questions.
    My questions are;

    1. if the rims are rated for 123psi and the Sailuns are 110psi cold, is it a concern if they exceed the rating of the rims at 123psi when they warm up on a hot day?

    2. are the Sailuns overkill, if there is such a thing, for the trailer?

    3. should I just stick with the Goodyear Endurance?

I'm not an expert at anything RV related so take my opinions with a large grain of salt...

    1. if the rims are rated for 123psi and the Sailuns are 110psi cold, is it a concern if they exceed the rating of the rims at 123psi when they warm up on a hot day?
I wouldn't be concerned about it. I replaced the "E" rated tires on my Reflection with 110psi "G" rated tires. No problems with several thousand miles of towing.

    2. are the Sailuns overkill, if there is such a thing, for the trailer?
The "G" rated Sailun S637 might be overkill for an RV under, say, 10,000lbs GVWR because it would cause a harsher ride but not for your Reflection 307MKS at 12,995lbs GVWR.

    3. should I just stick with the Goodyear Endurance?[/QUOTE]
The Goodyear Endurance tires are an excellent "E" rated tire but IMO, your RV is pretty heavy for "E" rated tires. I'd choose the Sailun S637 because of the weight of your RV.

If it came with Goodyear Endurance, that's a very good tire. If your wheels are 15", the Sailun S637 does not come in that size (only 16"). There are inflation tables for the Sailun tires so you can adjust the pressure downward for lighter loads.

Thanks for your response Rob. The trailer came with the Westlake "E" rated tire and the rim is 16. I wish it came with the Goodyears!
