    Tire Upgrade Advice

We own a new 2017 GD Solitude and I'd like to upgrade to a higher load range tire from the factory tires. E-G range.

Any suggestions on who makes the most reliable load range G trailer tire? From your experiences.

I would look at the Sailun S637. If you search all the various RV forums these are the hot ticket and you absolutely can not beat the price, especially when compared to the Goodyear tires. I bought a set for my last trailer but I never got a chance to use them (long story).

If you're not concerned about the price, i'd go with the top of the line Goodyear G614 tires. I wish they made them in a 15" version.

A quick google search found the Goodyear G614 can be bought around $300 per tire. The Sailun S637 ... half that price at around $150! Everything I'm reading tells me there's no real additional value on the Goodyear. So, what are the benefits versus price?

Paul - The Goodyears are designed to be regrooved. In other words, if they are not past their 5 year life expectancy and the tread is getting thin, they can legally and safely be regrooved in order to provide longer life. I've also heard anecdotal evidence of them paying for damage to an RV if the tire causes damage. But I couldn't find the warranty info in writing, so it's probably like Grand Design providing some additional coverage over their actual warranty. They are made in the U.S.A, and provide jobs to American rubber workers.

I get all that and they are all excellent points. I'm trying to buy a new truck and there's an out of state dealer who wants my business so I went to my local dealer and told him to get close because I've rather spend my money here. He's trying but I get your point about buying American and do when it makes sense in every way.

Jim did a great job explaining some of the benefits of the G614 but I have some questions.
    - How many of the people you are reading about (who say the G614 offers no additional value) actually own the G614?
    - If your tire dealer had both the Goodyear G614 and Sailun S637 in stock at the same price, which would you buy?

The Sailun tires appear to be a good value but tires are probably the ONLY thing on my RV where money is no object. I want the highest odds possible of not having a tire failure and IMO the G614 delivers that - at a price of course :-)

Hey guys, I'm merely offering an alternative. I'm not selling Sailuns or defending them. I read many, many good posts about them. I run Bridgestone tires so I have "no dog in this fight". Just bringing up another choice.

I found Maxxis tires to be the best all round. Never heard of a failure. Were a selling point when I sold my Arctic Fox.
