First outing out cat fled the cabin under the cabinet to the right of the stove. The false cabinet houses the return air plenum and is directly connected to the basement area in the front of the unit. It was a very cold day and cold air poured into the kitchen foot area. The cat was found in the basement.
We are told this is "normal". We can certainly fix the egress from under the cabinet with expanded aluminum but should the cold area in the basement come into the kitchen? Not sure if it is safe to cut off the airflow from the basement and simply circulate from the cabin? Or should we cut off the cabin and circulate only from the basement?
All ideas welcome.
